Important Airport Information

Runway 04/22

Preffered Runway for all operations.Runway 04/22 is unsealed gravel. Runway length threshold to threshold is 950M.

Note runway 22 threshold is displaced, An additional 200m is available for takeoff runway 22 giving TODA of 1150M.

Runway 36/18

No longer operational.

Taxiways / Parking

All taxiways at Phillip Island are Gravel and can have stones as large as 25mm. Advised to taxi at low power settings.For parking details please call aerodrome operator, or contact Phillip Island Ground on 119.10.

Lighting

No longer available.

Aerodrome Hazards

Large flocks of birds have been observed flying in the area and settling on the movement area.

Water has been observed pooling near taxiways after heavy rains.

Noise Abatement

RWY 04: Maintain RWY heading until abeam Churchill Island or reaching 1000ft, then turn crosswind remianing clear of house south west of Churchill Island

RWY 18: Extend downwind leg until Churchill Island then turn base

Fly Neighbourly Agreement

Phillip Island Nature Parks contains sensitive environmental areas including seabirds and shorebirds breeding, feeding and roosting sites of national and international importance. Pilots are requested to not fly below 1,500 FT AMSL within one (1) NM of these sensitive sites. Flights over these sites should be avoided where possible and aircraft should be operated to minimise noise and visual impact from the ground. Pilots undertaking sightseeing flights should obtain details of such sites and preferred routes, and associated altitudes, from Phillip Island Nature Park: Ph 03 5951 2800. Pilots of aircraft, helicopters and airborne craft may not land or operate within the park without permit from committee of management from the Phillip Island Nature Park.
