PHILLIP ISLAND HELICOPTERS PRESENTED AT STATE AWARDS

Phillip Island Helicopters was presented as a Finalist in the prestigious Regional Development Victoria Business
Achievement Award, by Ms Danielle Green, Parliamentary Secretary for Regional Victoria; Parliamentary Secretary for
Sport, representing The Hon. Mary-Anne Thomas, Minister for Regional Development, Minister for Agriculture during the
2021 Community Achievement Awards for Regional Victoria Presentation Saturday 26th February at Sofitel Melbourne On
Collins.
Hosted by James Wagstaff, Editor, The Weekly Times. More than 170 guests gathered from across the State including
Danielle Green, Parliamentary Secretary for Regional Victoria; Parliamentary Secretary for Sport, representing The Hon.
Mary-Anne Thomas, Minister for Regional Development, Minister for Agriculture to celebrate regional Victoria’s high
achievers.
Phillip Island Helicopters is committed to tourism excellence. Phillip Island Helicopters began its scenic flights and
helicopter experience operationsin 2005 for an opportunity to showcase Phillip Island from a different perspective. During
their pre-Covid peak, they delivered over 45,000 flights per year with 100% safety record. After being hit hard by the
pandemic, the company successfully minimised their outgoings to reduce overheads and ensure to still have a viable
business. They also work with other tourism partners to deliver the best experience to visitors. They have won many
awards and were a finalist in the 2018 Victorian Tourism Awards, tour and transport category.
The seven category winners are:
• Daylesford Cider Company – Regional Development Victoria Business Achievement Award
• Strathbogie Local of Euroa – Regional Development Victoria Leadership & Innovation Award
• Sale Gardens Care Community – Prime Super Employer Excellence in Aged Care Award
• Bunyip Hotel Cavendish – Ricoh Australia Customer Service Award
• Zoe Support Australia of Mildura – GOTAFE Community Education Award
• Saskia Adams of Gladysdale – Southside Plumbing, Heating and Cooling Community Hero Award
• BlazeAid of Kilmore East – Awards Australia Community Group Award
BlazeAid was later announced as the 2021 Westpac Regional Achiever of the Year.
Winners each received either a $2,000 Westpac Choice Account, or a PRIME7 Television Package and a magnificent trophy.
BlazeAid received an additional $2,000 Westpac Choice Account and state trophy.
SRS Inc. was also announced as the winner of the People’s Choice Award presented by Sofitel Melbourne On Collins and
received a voucher for an accommodation package for an overnight stay at Sofitel Melbourne On Collins.
The Awards night was the culmination of a tremendously successful year with hundreds of nominations received from
across Victoria.
The Community Achievement Awards started in 2002 as the Regional Achievement and Community Awards, and are designed to
encourage, acknowledge and reward the valuable contributions that individuals, communities and businesses make throughout
regional and rural Victoria. a. These awards aim to recognise their success and achievements, which contribute to making regional
Victoria a better place.
